St. Amand BloodStock website...

Thoroughbred racing, once considered "the sport of Kings"- well beyond the realm of possibility for most people - has been transformed by syndication into "the king of sports," enabling anyone with the dream of Thoroughbred ownership to participate.

Our Racing mission:

Why should YOU use a BLOODSTOCK AGENT? agent for my Thoroughbred purchases/research.

 F.A.Q's

What will I gain by using the services of a BLOODSTOCK agent?

Well the purpose of a good agent is to research data on Thoroughbred bloodlines and to use that data to either make an informed purchase for a client or provide the data to a client.

What are some of the things a BLOODSTOCK agent does?

Bloodstock agents locate various thoroughbreds for clients. Whether it be weanlings, yearlings, racing stock, broodmares or stallion prospects/shares i.e. Syndication. A Bloodstock agent can purchase horses for racing partnerships or other stock for resale to make a profit (PINHOOKING).

What does a BLOODSTOCK agent look for in a prospect?

Looking at perspective horses to purchase is an art that should most of the time be left up to a experienced bloodstock agent or trainer to view and examine what characteristics that are acceptable and what are not. Meaning some people can except a horse with a narrow chest or some with small nasal passages. I prefer a well balanced horse. One with a Good shoulder, Correct legs, large nasal passage, Nice broad chest, a straight top line, Nice hip and long neck.

Knowing about PEDIGREES is VERY Important and how the breeding of an individual horse may play a part in what you desire. Example: You may want a horse with classic bloodlines or a horse known to produce sprinters, turf or classic distance runners.

What tax advantages are there to having Thoroughbreds?

Well there are tax advantages, but you have to consult a tax adviser on those issues.
